How to reset DPF soot on Detroit Diesel truck by DDDL?

This guide shows you how to use DDDL diagnostic to reset/clean PDF data or ash accumulator value for 3720/15 fault code.

Preparations:

2024.06 Detroit Diesel Diagnostic Link DDDL 8.20 8.09 Software

Detroit Diesel Diagnostic Link DDDL 8.20 Professional with (10 10 10) Level Installation Service

Procedures:

Click the “Troubleshooting” button to view detailed information.

The screen will display:
SPN 3720/FMI 15 – EPA07, EPA10, GHG14
Diesel Particulate Filter Has Reached the End of Its Service Life.

Replace the DPF and perform the Ash Accumulator Reset using DiagnosticLink.

The DPF lamp will illuminate, and code 2730/15 will log when the truck reaches the designated mileage interval.

This fault indicates that the DPF needs to be replaced.

The DPF Ash Accumulator Routine in DiagnosticLink must be completed.

This routine is located in the Actions drop-down menu and must be executed properly.

Select “Actions” from the menu.

Navigate to “Aftertreatment”.

Click on “DPF Ash Accumulator” to proceed.

Now, a panel will appear allowing you to reset or synchronize the ash volume ratio.

Select “Cleaned or remanufactured filter installation.”

Enter the two serial numbers for the newly installed aftertreatment system.

Click “Set Ash Volume” to complete the process.

Wait for the procedure to complete.
