How to delete DPF EGR on Volkswagen Touran EDC16U31?

This guide shows you how to use DPF EGR Lambda Remover to remove the DPF and EGR for VW Touran EDC16U31 and EDC16U34.

Preparation:

DPF EGR Lambda Remover Software

Procedures to Remove EGR:

Before using DPF EGR Lambda Remover, you need to use an ECU read/write programmer (FGTECH Galletto, KESS V2, KTAG Master, MPPS) to read out the ECU file.

Then, run EGR Remover.
Select “Volkswagen” from the Car Model section.
Select “EDC16U34 Generic”.
Then, select the ECU bin file read by the ECU programmer.

Now, it will prompt you with a message:
“EGR Map(s) Found. Do you want to remove EGR?”
Click “OK” to continue.

Now, you need to save the new ECU bin file (no EGR).

It prompts you:

  • DTCs have been deleted
  • EGR Map1 has been disabled
  • EGR Map2 has been disabled
  • Successfully Removed!!
  • PLEASE DON’T FORGET TO FIX THE CHECKSUM!

Procedures to Remove DPF:

This operation is similar to “Procedures to Remove EGR”.

Run DPF Remover.
Select “Volkswagen” from the Car Model section.
Select “EDC16U34 Generic Switch”.
Then, select the ECU bin file you saved (the file with EGR removed).

It will prompt you with a message:
“DPF Map(s) Found. Do you want to remove DPF?”
Click “OK” to continue.

Save the new ECU file with a new name (no_EGR_no_DPF).

It prompts you:

    • EDC16U34 Generic Switch Detected OK
    • DTCs have been deleted
    • Map or Switch Point 1 has been disabled
    • Successfully Removed!!
  • PLEASE DON’T FORGET FIXED THE CHECKSUM!

Finally, you need to use an ECU programmer to write the ECU bin file you just saved back to the ECU.

Congratulations, it’s done.
