Here we take X431 Pro as an example, you can choose other devices.

Ford DPF Generation detail procedures:

Connect X431 Pro Bluetooth DBSCar Connector

Plug the Bluetooth DBSCar connector into your car via the OBD2 socket

Open the X431 Software

  • On the device, navigate to the software interface.
  • Select:
    • “American”
    • “Ford”

Select the Correct Software Version

Choose “Ford series software V46.20.”

Automatic Vehicle Search

  • Select “Automatically Search” to detect the vehicle.

  • Verify the vehicle specification and click “OK.”

Select Fuel Type

  • Choose “Fuel Type = Diesel.”

Access the System Selection

  • Navigate to “System Selection.”

  • Select “PCM (Powertrain Control Module)” and click “OK.”

Access Special Functions

  • Select:
    • “Special Function”

  • Choose “Diesel Particulate Filter Static Regeneration.”

Follow System Prompts

  • Turn the ignition to the ON position.
  • Wait for the system to read fault codes.

 

Turn Ignition OFF

  • Pay attention to the prompts and click “Yes.”

Regeneration Process Duration

  • The test will take approximately 2500 seconds (about 42 minutes).
  • Confirm by selecting “Yes.”
  • Wait until the process is complete.

Complete the Procedure

  • Once done, click “OK.”
  • Turn the ignition to the OFF position.
